Marpissa

Marpissa is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by Ludwig Carl Christian Koch in 1846. The name is derived from Marpissa, an ancient Greek village. As of June 2019 it contains fifty-one species, found in South America, Asia, Europe, the United States, Cameroon, on the Polynesian Islands, and the Greater Antilles:
