Preparing starch microspheres in inverse microemulsion

The starch microspheres were synthesized from soluble starch by inverse microemulsion with epichlorohydrin as the cross-linking agent,Span60 as the emulsifying agent and the plant oil as the organic phase.The results showed that the optimum conditions for synthesizing starch microspheres were as follows: starch solution 14%,dosage of oil phase 100 mL,dosage of surfactants 0.75 g,dosage of cross-linking agent 4.8 mL and stirring speed 1 200 r/min.The product was characterized by infrared red spectrum and electron microscope and the results proved that the soluble starch had cross-linked with epichlorohydrin.
