Effect of Flipped Instructional Strategy on Achievement in Social Sciences among Viith Class Students

This study examined the effect of flipped instructional strategy on achievement in social sciences among VIIthclass students. Flipped instructional strategy is a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom by watching video lectures, usually at home and what used to be homework (assigned problems) is now done in class with teachers offering more personalized guidance and interaction with students, instead of lecturing. Pretest- Posttest design was used to assess the effectof flipped instructional strategy with traditional strategyonVIIthclass students.The study sample consists of 80 students, who were chosen purposely from the study population. The study sample was distributed into two groups: the experimental group that consisted of 40 students, who has studied according to flipped instructional strategy, and the control group that consisted of 40 students, who has studied in the traditional strategy.The investigator prepared video lessons on social sciences (geography, history and civics) of VIIth class students.  The experiment was conducted in Govt. school in Amritsar district. The findings revealed that flipped instructional strategy achieve better than traditional strategy.
