The fixity of contextual culture seen from cross-culture communication perspective

2009
Cultural difference is one of the main barriers in cross-culture communication.By examining the differences between LC cultures and HC cultures, the essay explores the performance of high and low context cultures in the cross-culture communication, and speculates on the characteristics of contextual culture. The author concludes that contextual culture is of fixity which people cannot get rid of by learning and through personal experience, thus it provides a warning and a new perspective for cross-culture communication research and competence training.
