Transmission coefficients of free-standing wire grids in the far infrared: A theoretical approach for easy computation

1986
Abstract In this paper we present a method for the calculation of the power transmission coefficients of free-standing wire grids in case of normally incident radiation. The method, based on the transmission line analogy, although not as general as other theoretical approaches already discussed in the literature, has the great advantage of being suitable for easy and quick numerical computation. Comparison with other authors allows us to state that the accuracy of the present method is quite acceptable, provided that the wavelength of incident radiation is at least five times greater than the diameter of the wires.
