From the environmental model to the intelligent engine stop start system

Engine Stop Start (ESS) offers an advantage in fuel consumption by automatically switching off the engine during vehicle stops. It is an important module of the BMW Efficient Dynamics Strategy and was introduced in 2007. Today it is a standard configuration within the automobile industry.
