Electrical Automation System for Materials Recovery with Electro-Plasma Technology

2020
The restoration of the materials surface layer can be performed by depositing a metal layer using an electric arc plasmatron. The restoration technology is based on feeding molten metal into the reduction zone, and subsequent additional heating of the reduction zone by plasma. In an electric arc plasmatron, an electric arc is ignited between two electrodes and is pulled from the plasma torch by electromagnetic field. Plasma-forming gas is supplied to the arc burning zone under pressure. The article address issues of the electrical system automation, which consists of blocks that heat the weld metal by induction to a molten state; feeding it into the recovery zone of the part, ensuring the operation of the electric arc plasma torch and taking measurements. The whole technological process is ensured by using highly efficient systems of automated alternating current electric drive with vector control with improved electromagnetic compatibility of electric drive systems with a supply network, achieved by improving the frequency converter and control algorithms.
