Optical fiber array substrate and complete-contact type image sensor using optical fiber array substrate

1992
PURPOSE: To obtain a good picture image with high illumination efficiency without influence of external light by using an optical fiber array substrate in which a light-absorbing material or opaque material is used for the part in contact with optical fibers. CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber is covered with a light-absorbing layer. Fiber bundles comprising lots of these optical fibers are arranged in one dimension and embedded in an optical fiber array substrate 13. As for the substrate 13, colored glass is used, and for example, ND filter material, brown glass for window glass, or optical color glass are used. Or opaque glass such as crystallized glass with little reflection is used for the substrate. The complete-contact type image sensor is obtd. by die-bonding a semiconductor integrated circuit (sensor IC) 14 to the light-transmitting supporting body 11 with an adhesive. This sensor IC 14 has light receiving elements 15 arranged in one dimension. The optical fiber array substrate 13 is fixed to a supporting body 17 and the sensor 14 with a light-transmitting resin 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
