Charge-transfer pentacene/benzothiadiazole derivative cocrystal for UV-to-NIR Large Range Responsive Phototransistors

2022
Abstract The key process in the photodetector is to convert light into electrical signals. Here, we reported a binary donor-acceptor complex constructed by synergistic binding TMTES-P and DFD at a molar ratio of 1:2. The resultant crystalline framework exhibited good crystallinity and charge transport feature. The as-prepared DFD/TMTES-P photodetector showed significant UV-to-NIR photoresponse with an ultrahigh responsivity of R of 5.3 × 103 A/W and detectivity of 0.51 × 1014 Jones under UV-light illumination, and responsivity of 3.9 × 104 A/W and detectivity of 1.0 × 1014 Jones at NIR-light illumination. Our study suggests the potential of charge-transfer complex acting as active layer in photo detector application with wide spectral range.
