Phosphate ion sorption and desorption isotherms in low-bog peat soils containing iron

The quantity of sorbed and desorbed phosphate ions is determined by the ash content of the peat and its sorption activity. Sorption and desorption isotherms in low-bog peat soils are described by the Freundlich equation. High-ash peat soils containing iron exhibit higher phosphate-sorption activity and less desorption of phosphate ions than peat soils with a normal ash content.
