GASEOUS BORONIZING WITH SOLID BORON-YIELDING AGENTS

1992
Gaseous boronizing with solid boron-yielding agents is a new method of boronizing. Using special solid boron-yielding substances and a special device, boronizing can be carried out in such a way that the workpieces do not contact the boronizing agents. The new boronizing method can form desirable single-phase Fe2B on the surface of steel. It overcomes the disadvantages of conventional gaseous, liquid and solid boronizing methods yet retains their advantages.
