Caracterización morfológica de las accesiones de tomate (Solanumspp.) en la cuenca del río Vinces - Ecuador

2018
Tomato is affected by pests and diseases that are controlled with application of agrochemicalsthat affect human health. Resistant genes obtained from wild Solanum should be used in orderto avoid this. In Ecuador, there is little research on this subject and the country is lacking of agermplasm bank that guarantees adequate conservation of the genetic material. The goalsofthis study were: To inventory Solanum spp. inthe Vinces River basin and to characterize themmorphologically. The methodology was to collect the wild material, from which 10 accessionswere chosen, whose seeds were planted and cultivated. A complete randomized block designwas used. The Bioversity International descriptors were used in the morphological characterization. This assayallowed to perform the morphological characterization of the accessions ofSolanumspp in this area.
