On-line Monitoring and Data Analysis Based on Vibro-acoustic Signals of High-voltage Shunt Reactor

2020
The high-voltage shunt reactor is essential in the power system, immensely significant to the power system's stable and safe operation. The mechanical fault of the reactor core and winding is the primary fault category of the reactor. In recent years, the vibration and noise problems of the shunt reactor have been widely concerned. Under the long-term vibration effect, internal components may become loose, and even severe faults may occur. In this paper, the high-voltage shunt reactor's vibration mechanism is discussed, and an on-line monitoring system for reactor vibro-acoustic signal is developed. Four spectrum characteristics are extracted and analyzed based on the data collected in the field. The results show that the fundamental frequency amplitude of vibro- acoustic signal fluctuates with the ambient temperature, and they are positively correlated to some extent. It is of great significance for substation operators to evaluate the reactor's mechanical state and noise level.
