TEACHING OF MEDICAL PARASITOLOGY TO THE STUDENTS OF “NURSING” SPECIALTY OF MEDICAL COLLEGES DURING TRADITIONAL AND ON LINE STUDYING

2020
Objective: to study the possibility of teaching of medical parasitology to medical collegestudents using interactive and traditional methods, as well as distance learning duringthe quarantine.Material and methods: both classical and modern teaching methods, as well astheir combination, were considered. During practical classes in the course "MedicalParasitology" such teaching methods as gaming, group work, coaching were used formedical college students. Results: several approaches were used during the practical classes: in the first case acombination of gaming and solving situational problems have been used, and in the secondcase students worked in groups and determined the species of parasitic organisms. Bothapproaches have proven to be effective, as there has been an increase in student interestduring practical classes. Due to the active involvement of students in the process of thelesson, as well as due to greater visualization of educational materials and teamwork,a significant increase in the performance of both individual students and the group as awhole was noticed. Positive dynamics was also observed during revision of the studiedmaterial. After applying the mentioned techniques, a higher percentage of understandingof the studied material by the students was observed. Distance learning use for collegestudents has also shown its effectiveness during quarantine, although some shortcomingsof this method in acquiring knowledge were noted, this is especially true while assessingand motivating students for studying. Conclusions: the effectiveness of interactive methods and group work was noted, especially for junior students. Methods of group working among students who entered themedical college after obtaining basic secondary education proved to be quite effective.
