External optical feedback effects on DEB semiconductor lasers-theoretical analysis and experimental results

A new theoretical approach of external optical feedback effects on phase and amplitude noise of DFB lasers is presented. Using direct detection at 2.3 Gbit/s, the authors report experimental results of external feedback effects on DFB lasers.
