Radioimmunodetection of necrotic lesions in human tumors using I-131 labeled TNT-1 F(ab')2 monoclonal antibody

1991
A new method of cancer imaging and therapy designated Tumor Necrosis Treatment (TNT) has been developed which utilizes necrotic cells as the target for the selective binding of monoclonal antibodies to human tumors. We report the initial results of imaging studies with I-131 labeled TNT-1 F (ab') 2 directed against nuclear histones for the radioimmunodetection of necrotic lesions in a variety of human cancers. Seven patients with pancreatic, breast, cervical, and colon carcinomas, and sarcoma were administered 2-5 mCi of I-131 labeled TNT-1 (ab') 2 monoclonal antibody intravenously and imaged at 1, 4, 24, and 48 hours using gamma scintigraphic techniques
