A New Automated and Intelligent Operation Challenge for the Technology Demonstrator 'Hayabusa' (MUSES-C)

The Hayabusa spacecraft launched last May has made a successful voyage to the asteroid Itokawa by way of Earth gravity assist by now. The operation in Hayabusa has been well supported by intelligent operation tools that have saved a lot of man power concerned. The paper first shows what the spacecraft is and how it has cruised, followed by the operation aspect in it focusing its attention on the sophisticated functions developed.
