The invention relates to a supporting arm rod and a preparing method thereof, in particular to a satellite-borne unfolding mechanism composite supporting arm rod and a preparing method thereof, and aims to solve the problem that a satellite-borne unfolding mechanism composite supporting arm rod prepared through an existing process is large in weight, low in intensity and poor in environmental suitability. The supporting arm rod is formed by a base tube, two tubular connectors and an outer layer wall tube, the two tubular connectors are arranged at the two ends of the base tube respectively, and the outer layer wall tube sleeves the outer surfaces of the tubular connectors and the base tube. The preparing method includes the steps of preparing a resin matrix, forming the base tube, conducting size finishing and appearance finishing on the base tube, conducting surface treatment on the tubular connectors, connecting the tubular connectors with the base tube, and forming the outer layer wall tube. Compared with a supporting arm rod made of a metal material, the weight of the composite supporting arm rod is reduced by 50-60% under the same weight conditions, and the satellite-borne unfolding mechanism composite supporting arm rod is high in dimensional stability and space environmental suitability.
