Isofetamid: Discovery and optimization of a novel fungicide

2021
Abstract Isofetamid is a new fungicide discovered and developed by Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha, Ltd. showing good performance against many diseases, including gray mold, white mold, and powdery mildew. Isofetamid belongs to the group of succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors (SDHIs). Although several SDHI-resistant isolates were detected in the fields, isofetamid remains effective against most of them. The authors consider that the unique flexibility of the chemical structure of isofetamid contributes to fitting to the mutated binding pockets.
