Harmonic Elimination of a T-Type Multilevel Inverter Based on Multistate Switching Cell

2021
A new topology of T-type MLI based on multistate switching cell is described in this work. In this scheme, five-level voltage is obtained at the output. High ordered harmonics can be eliminated easily by using an LC filter. The output ripple frequency of LC filter is twice of switching frequency, therefore, the volume and weight can be reduced. The inverter has some other characteristics that the current can be shared by the switches. The contact area is increased, therefore, the switching loss decreases. The PWM technique is considered to analyze with T-type multilevel inverter. With the increase of voltage level, the harmonic content decreases. Hence, the inverter becomes more efficient for higher voltage with less harmonic content.
