Coincidence is one of the materials of modern journalism. It has a number of different forms, which may be exploited to different ends. For example, the coincidence on the page of different narratives may be used to figure a cultural trend by making it specific, punctual. Consider in this light the following scene, from an article written sometime in the middle of February 1934; the author is Carlo Rim, a journalist, caricaturist and sometime scriptwriter, thus amongst other things a professional of coincidence.
