Broadly, multicultural education expects to promote social justice and equity by school reform while in the narrow sense it supplies students with some kinds of knowledge about history, culture, contribution, etc. of different culture communities through school education in order to help students know of and identify with their own culture as well as appreciate and respect others. It also provides students in adverse cultural position with proper and compensating education, which results in the improvement on education equity for students from cultural communities of different races. It influences ethnic and racial education profoundly.
