Si quidem Deus est, unde mala? Examen de la adecuación del argumento del libre albedrío como solución de la aporía capital de la teodicea

The aim of this paper is to examine the validity of the argument from the free will as a solution to the main aporia of theodicy. In order to accomplish it, I take into consideration ancient and recent contributions to the “free will defense”. I deal with the following questions: does the argument really explain the condition of the possibility of evil? Does it properly justify the compatibility of this condition with both God’s will and power? Can the argument also elucidate the existence of all kinds of evil?
