In the framework of this bachelor thesis, literary researches focused on the use of iron complexes in atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) were elaborated. This research shows that iron complexes containing various ligands in their structure are highly used in these polymerizations as catalysts with very good activity. The polymerizations catalyzed by these complexes exhibit the features of controlled radical polymerization and obtained polymers have an experimental molecular weight identical to theoretical values with a narrow distribution of these molecular weights. In the experimental part, phosphine-based and N,C,N-chelated stannylene ligands were prepared, which were further used for the synthesis of iron complexes containing the cyclopentadienyl fragment.
