Device for protection of pedestrians in the event of impact with a vehicle

The present invention relates to a land vehicle (10) having a portion (12) end, said front portion comprising means (15) for protection, said protection device comprising: - a bumper (17) disposed in front of the vehicle (10); - a device (18) shock detection or occurrence, capable of detecting an obstacle (16) ahead of the vehicle (10), characterized in that the bumper (17) comprises a flap (20) located back and lower part of the portion (12) of the front vehicle (10), said flap (20) being adapted to pass from a closed position to an open position downwardly of the vehicle in case of detection by the device (18 ) of a shock or the presence in front of the vehicle so as to prevent a passage of the obstacle (16) in the portion (12) of the front vehicle (10).
