Post Exposure Correction For Bayer CFA Image

In this paper, a post exposure correction technique is presented for distorted images and videos taken under arbitrary lighting conditions. Most of contrast enhancement algorithms are performed after the demosaicking process with a Bayer Color Filter Array (CFA). It is time consuming, cost rising and results in a high frequency information loss by registration errors. The key contribution of the paper is that we solve the necessarily existing color restoration problems when the image processing algorithm applies directly on the Bayer CFA. We believe that this method is effective for restoring color in shadow while preserving original image quality in bright region and reducing processing cost for the camera signal processing chip.
