Achievements Prior To the Platinum Jubilee of Kottar Diocese – 2005

Kottar Diocese is primarily concerned with the spiritual aspects of the people of the Diocese.  Yet they never failed to uplift the society in all aspects of life.  Thus though education is only one among many of their secondary duties, they have done wonders in the field of educational development of the people in this area.  The period between the Golden Jubilee (1980) and the Platinum Jubilee (2005) saw a tremendous growth in higher and job-oriented education.  The introduction of the system of Corporate Management in the Diocese paved the way clear for the efficient running of all parish schools. The grandeur of the Golden Jubilee Celebration gave a new life to all Catholics of the diocese.  Thereafter Bishop Arockiaswamy and Bishop Leon A. Tharmaraj who were in office did their best for the growth of education in the diocese concentrating their attention on higher and job oriented and professional education.
