Company Secretary: Governance in Commercialised Government Entities

Commercialised government entities, whether they are operating under enabling legislation or other legislation with key governance requirements, are a part of the complex Australian public governance landscape. The high levels of public accountability that apply to commercialised government entities as a result of their public ownership make their corporate governance very important. Some of the challenging issues and their implications for good governance have been examined recently through a national benchmarking survey of these entities undertaken by Chartered Secretaries Australia.
