Synthesis of a ball‐chain system C60 aza‐derivative

Nitrenes generated by thermolysis of alky 1 azides were found to add to C60 in chlorobenzene solvent. The product was isolated by means of silica gel chromatography and identified by field desorption mass spectroscopy and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
