The Special Ones

We will talk about what is really special about humans. Lurking in the pursuit of finding a purpose in life, a reason to live, is the belief that humans are special creatures. In what sense are we special? The sections above have already suggested that our presence in this world may be not so much a remarkable event but an inevitable one, just a matter of probabilities. Here we will see that the high cognition afforded by our brains may sometimes go against the basic natural instincts dictated by genes and how these cognitive faculties may help resolve some predicaments that emerged from our inherent genetic drives.
