Yponomeuta evonymella (Linnaeus, 1758). A new recordfor the Lepidopterofauna of the Maltese Islands(Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae)

Yponomeuta evonymella (Linnaeus, 1758) is recorded for the first time in the Maltese Islands. In Malta the Genus Yponomeuta Latreille, [1796] is only represented by another species: Yponomeuta padella (Linnaeus, 1758) (SAMMUT, 2000). Notes on the distribution and the habitat of the adult and the food plants of the larva are included. A Maltese name is proposed for the new record.
