Quasistatic Processes in Non-Equilibrium Two-Phase Systems with Ternary Salts: II. Dolomite + Aqueous Media

2009
The thermodynamic approach to the electrolytic systems containing dolomite, based on all attainable and pre-selected physicochemical knowledge, is presented. The simulated quasistatic dissolution of pure (ideal, stoichiometric) dolomite in pure water or in aqueous media containing CO, (C CO2 ≥ 0) and KOH (C b ≥ 0) or HCl (C a ≥ 0) is involved with formation of other solid phases. The inferences are based on calculations performed according to the generalised approach to electrolytic systems (GATES) with use of iterative MATLAB computer program. Among others, the quasistatic dissolution processes, involved with formation of other solid phases, are considered. The effects of differences in equilibrium constants known from literature are considered. The general scheme of calculations is demonstrated.
