Study Progress on Predisposing Genes of Autoimmune Thyroid Diseases

2009
Autoimmune thyroid diseases(AITD)are organ-specific autoimmune disorders in humans, which are speculated as the result of interaction of genetic background and environment. The genetic background is complicate. It is not yet known whether one or(and)some main-effect genes are present. Now candidate gene analysis and whole genome screening have been used to identify the susceptibility genes and loci contributing to the etiology of AITD.By means of these methods, some related genes and loci have been identified in order to clarify the genetics pathogenic mechanisms of AITD.This article will review progress on the genetic susceptibility.
