Anti-ageing efficacy in hair care products

2004
Age associated damage to hair has been examined to determine changes in hair cuticle health and hair cortex health, by measuring surface tryptophan and tensile characteristics respectively, using trials designed to mimic typical consumer behavtour. Ageing effects have been prevented through the use of a unique keratin protein active, a purified form of keratin interrmediare filament protein, which protects the hair cuticle and cortex through a sacrificial mechanism.
