Electrochemical properties of a new glass‐electrode containing beryllium oxide

2010
A glass containing 73 mol % SiO2, 6 mol % BeO and 21 mol % K2O has been made and used as a glass-electrode. This electrode responds rather well to potassium- and sodium-ions, but not to calcium-ions, and has a rather poor response to hydrogen-ions.
