Literature Review of Crepidotus Species in China

2009
Species of the genus Crepidotus reported from China are reviewed with a summary of their current research status. Some 31 taxa, including 30 species and one variety, have been recorded from 26 provinces in China. Among them, 28 taxa (C. albissimus,C.applanatus var.globigera,C.badiofloccosus,C.betulae,C.calolepis,C.coloradensi,C.crocophyllus,C.fulvotomentosus,C.herbarum,C.haerens,C.kauffmanii,C.luteolus,C.malachius,C.mollis,C.neocystidiosus,C.occidentalis,C.palmularis,C.panuoides,C.payettensis,C.pinicola,C.pubescens,C.putrigenus,C.subpurpureus,C.subsphaerosporus,C.subverrucisporus,C.sulphurinus,C.variabilis and C.versutus) were reported by citing specimens, but other three (C.applanatus var.applanatus, C.nephrodes and C.uber) without citation of any supporting materials; descriptions of seven taxa (C. albissimus, C. coloradensi, C. malachius, C. occidentalis, C. pubescens, C. putrigenus and C. variabilis) do not share the same morphological characters as that described in the western literature; and reports of four taxa (C. panuoides, C. subsphaerosporus,C.subverrucisporus and C.versutus) lack morphological descriptions.Crepidotus subpurpureus has been combined into another genus and should be excluded from Crepidotus. Corrections of Chinese names of Crepidotus species are also revised in this paper.
