Method and apparatus for producing a reflection-reducing coating

The method is used for preparing a reflection-reducing coating on a transparent substrate (28) contains at least one layer (29) containing silicon, oxygen, hydrogen and carbon, in a coating process on at least one side of the substrate (28) is deposited. In a subsequent process step, the layer (29) is irradiated with a laser (21), wherein the energy of the laser beam (25) from the layer (29) itself and not by the substrate (28) is absorbed and thereby the hydrogen and carbon content of the layer (29) is reduced in a chemical reaction. The apparatus for manufacturing the anti-reflection coating of a transparent substrate (28) comprises a coating unit and a post-processing unit (40) comprising a laser unit (20) which leads a laser beam (25) over the layer (29).
