Metodología para la elaboración de material divulgativo en relación con el patrimonio geológico: el caso de la reserva de la biosfera de Urdaibai

2015
The Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve (UBR) is an area with a great geotourism potential because it has a wide variety of Geological Sites of Interest (GSIs) with high informative and recreational values. This paper describes the methodology used in the design of a set of brochures addressed to the general public and including the interpretation of several GSIs of the UBR. The design of this type of brochures is usually complex because of the need for synthesis and an understandable terminology. The interpretive techniques that have been used are also described, such as use of analogies close to everyday life and use of humor, among others. Moreover, it illustrates on the choice of pictures, diagrams and/or paragraphs with curiosities or participatory activities. The objective was to develop a clear, enjoyable and proactive geotourism product, which triggers the curiosity of visitors and helps them to positively grasp the meaning and relevance of the GSIs that constitute the geoheritage of the UBR. This methodology may serve as a reference for developing similar geotourism products in other areas with GSIs.
