Impact of High Coupled Split Reactor on the RRRV in the Interrupting Process of Paralleled Circuit Breakers

2018
High coupled split reactor (HCSR) makes it possible for paralleled circuit breakers to interrupt current which exceeds short circuit current interrupting capacity of a single circuit breaker. However, the result of simulation shows that HCSR has effect on transient recovery voltage (TRV) in the interrupting process. To analyze the impact on recovery voltage, this paper analyzes the relationship between rate of rise of recovery voltage (RRRV) of paralleled circuit breakers and parameters of HCSR as well as the stray capacitance, determines the impact of HCSR on TRV in the synchronous or non-synchronous interrupting process on the basis of theoretical analysis and deduction in the equivalent circuit. The research results above can be used as the principle of selecting circuit breakers and determining parameters of HCSR and the reference for the design of the paralleled circuit breakers.
