Relación entre peso al nacimiento y medidas torácicas en terneros de raza Criollo Argentino

espanolLa raza Criollo Argentino se caracteriza por su facilidad de parto. Dificultades en el momento de la paricion pueden ocasionar perdidas de terneros, mayores controles y asistencia de las hembras y perdidas de vientres en las circunstancias mas severas. Los inconvenientes al momento del parto han sido relacionados con el peso al nacer del ternero, el area pelvica de la madre y con la relacion entre ambas variables. Se menciona ademas a la conformacion de la cria como otro componente de importancia. El objetivo de este trabajo fue relacionar el peso al nacimiento del ternero (PN) con sus medidas corporales: ancho (AT), profundidad (PT), perimetro (PERI) y area del torax (AREA). Para ello se utilizo la informacion de 67 terneros nacidos en el ano 2019 pertenecientes al rodeo de bovinos Criollo Argentino del IIACS - INTA Leales, Tucuman. Las variables fueron analizadas a traves de correlaciones y regresiones lineales. PN, PERI, PT y AREA presentaron correlaciones positivas elevadas (0.87, 0.91 y 0.76 respectivamente). AT fue la unica variable cuya correlacion con PN resulto no significativa. Las medidas corporales registradas indicarian que las dificultades al parto deberian estar presentes en la raza, por lo que es necesario estudiar otros factores que permitan entender la facilidad de parto en Bovino Criollo Argentino. EnglishThe Argentine Creole breed is characterized by its calving ease. Difficulties at calving can lead to calflosses, increased controls and assistance fromfemales, and cows losses in the most severe circumstances. Theinconveniences at calving have been related to the calf's birth weight, the mother's pelvic area and the relationshipbetween both variables. The conformation of the calf is also mentioned as another important component. Theobjective of this work was to relate the calf's birth weight (PN) with its body measurements: width (AT), depth (PT),perimeter (PERI) and chest area (AREA). For this, the information of 67 calves born in the year 2019 belonging tothe rodeo of Argentine Criollo cattle of the IIACS INTALeales, Tucuman was used. Variables were analyzedthrough correlations and linear regressions. PN, PERI, PT and AREA presented high positive correlations (0.87, 0.91and 0.76 respectively). AT was the only variable whose correlation with PNwas not significant. The recorded bodymeasurements would indicate that difficulties in calving should be present in the breed, so it is necessary to studyother factors that allow us to understand the calving ease in Argentinean Cattle.
