Ética y maximalismo digital: necesidad del pensamiento crítico sobre las tecnologías

espanolLas tecnologias de la informacion no solo han cambiado nuestras vidas, sino que tambien han hecho emerger nuevas facilidades para generar, recopilar y tratar grandes volumenes de informacion. Los datos masivos estan, cada vez mas, en manos de grandes empresas que, ademas, delegan la gestion de estos datos y la toma de decisiones en algoritmos y programas de inteligencia artificial que empiezan a decidir sobre quien puede ser el mejor candidato para un puesto de trabajo o la idoneidad para recibir un credito hipotecario. Todo esto genera nuevos dilemas eticos y, por eso, se hace cada vez mas necesaria la existencia de humanistas digitales: filosofos, historiadores y pensadores con conocimiento y vision critica de la tecnologia, que alerten y ayuden a comprender los limites y las consecuencias de su uso. EnglishInformation technologies have changed our lives, this includes new ways to generate, collect, and process large volumes of information. Big data are in the hands of large companies that delegate the management of data to algorithms and artificial intelligence programs that play a part in deciding who is the most suitable candidate for a job or who should receive mortgage credit. All this generates new ethical dilemmas; therefore, the existence of digital humanists becomes increasingly necessary. Philosophers, historians, and thinkers with knowledge and a critical vision of technology become the ones who alert and help us understand the limits and consequences of the use of big data.
