Application of Symbol in Modern Character Design Education

By elaborating and summarizing the theory of semiotics,exploring the relationship between symbol and modern design,the relationship between semiotics and modern character design education was explained based on author's teaching experience.As a visual presentation,symbol makes people communicate with culture and information.We should study,get to know it and dig more features of it in order to combine theory of semiotics with modern design more accurately.Therefore,the application of semiotics influences the expression of shape thinking of pattern design.Due to its existence,modern design conveys information more scientifically and techniques of expression are more colorful and the design works make fresh impression.
