A novel extendable and compact HTS multiplexer

In this paper, a new compact high temperature superconducting (HTS) multiplexer is proposed, which works in C-band and can be extended to arbitrary number of channels. The multiplexer consists of a common input transmission line and several bandpass filters. The number of channels can be increased by the extension of the transmission line and the bandpass filters. A gradient optimization method and space mapping technique are also proposed to design the multiplexer. An example of 16-channel multiplexer that works in the frequency from 3800 MHz to 4185 MHz is presented.
