A long-radius inlet nozzle for flow measurement
1985
The discharge coefficients for a long-radius inlet nozzle, the contraction shape of which is the quadrant of an ellipse with major and minor axes in the ratio 6:1, were studied experimentally in the Reynolds number range from 3*103 to 6*105. It was found that the tested nozzle shows a satisfactory performance. Empirical equations for discharge coefficients were presented for both cases in which the boundary layer at the pressure tap position is laminar and turbulent respectively.
