A method for collision warning in a motor vehicle with a head-up display means (7) for superimposing information in a viewing area (8) of a driver of a motor vehicle, comprising the steps of: - detecting at least one object (10) in the vicinity of the motor vehicle, - detecting speed and steering angle of the vehicle, - checking a risk of collision with the object (10) due to the speed and the steering angle and deposited measurements of the motor vehicle, - Show a collision information (10) in the viewing area (8) by means of the display means (7) in case of positive check of the risk of collision with the object (10), the collision information (6) comprises at least one contact-analog identifying the object.
