Avaliação da sustentabilidade de um fragmento florestal em Araras-SP, mediante aplicação da metodologia MESMIS Evaluation of the sustainability of a forest fragment in Araras-SP by MESMIS

The present work objectified to evaluate the sustainability of one forest fragment and to consider lines of work for the aspects less sustainable (critical points). The studied area is located to the edges of the dam of the Federal University of Sao Carlos, Araras city, Sao Paulo state. The study it was carried through being based on the pointers of sustainability of method MESMIS. For evaluation 22 pointers and three parameters had been used, approaching social and ambient aspects. The result gotten with the evaluation of it I forest fragment evidence that the same if finds modified, where the critical points must be solved of form accomplishes, so that the same not backwards in ambient quality throughout the time. The critical points of bigger increase were related to the exotic species, incidence of lianas, presence of bare place, population of wild animals, presence of forest matrices, application of chemical defensives and spraying of ripeners. The identification of the critical points made possible to consider propose measures capable to assure the ecological balance of forest fragment evaluated.
