Time domain analysis of a compact UWB antenna acting as a band stop filter in five narrow frequency bands

2017
This work presents the time domain analysis of a compact Penta notched UWB antenna integrated with band stop resonators. The antenna has the capability to filter out the WiMAX (3.30–3.60 GHz), Lower WLAN (5.150–5.350 GHz), upper WLAN (5.725–5.825 GHz), the downlink of X- and satellite communication (7.0–7.40 GHz) and the uplink of X-band satellite communication (8.10–8.50 GHz) frequency bands from UWB frequency range. The band stop filtering of the antenna has been confirmed using this technique. The time domain study is basically based on pulse response of antenna and fidelity factor of a system. The extraction of the time response has been carried out from the corresponding frequency response of the antenna using the standard technique. The results of the time domain analysis confirm the suitability of the antenna with integrated filtering resonators.
