Production and characterization of monoclonal antibodies to human sperm specific antigens.

Mouse monoclonal antibodies (MAbS) have been generated to elucidate the biochemical and immunological nature of human sperm membrane antigens. The preliminary screening of the supernatants of the hybrids was carried out using ELISA. The reactivity of the antibodies was also assessed by micro sperm-agglutination, panning assay and indirect immunofluorescence. Six MAbs chosen for characterization were found to be positive by all the three methods. Cross reactivity with epididymal sperm of rats and mice was demonstrated using ELISA
