Affordable housing finance learning product : concept note

With this learning product on housing finance the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) intends to generate new knowledge, insights, and lessons about the factors contributing to the success and failure in the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) housing finance interventions. IEG will review interventions in the form of loans for the World Bank or investments and advisory services for IFC. World Bank technical assistance and knowledge products and interventions on housing finance matters will be considered when provided in the context of lending operations. In other words, stand-alone World Bank technical assistance interventions will not be a focus of this study, as such operations are not currently subject to IEG’s project-level evaluations.
