A novel plate-like BaFe12O19@MoS2 core-shell structure composite with excellent microwave absorbing properties

2019
Abstract In this study, a novel core-shell BaFe12O19@MoS2 composite was successfully prepared by the hydrothermal process. The dielectric loss of the as-prepared BaFe12O19@MoS2 composite can be well regulated by altering the additive amount of thiourea. Particularly, when the amount of thiourea added is 28 mmol, the RLmax (maximum reflection loss) of BaFe12O19@MoS2 is −61.0 dB with a thickness of 1.7 mm as well as an effective absorption bandwidth (reflection loss below −10 dB) of 4.4 GHz. The results indicate that the BaFe12O19@MoS2 core-shell composites are characterized by low cost, facile synthesis and strong microwave absorption capacity. Therefore, the as-prepared core shell structure BaFe12O19@MoS2 composite can be a promising candidate for the efficient microwave absorbing applications.
